Choirs

At Trinity Church, our choirs provide music for more than a hundred services and events each year. In return, the singers not only participate in quality music-making, but also receive Christian education and the benefits of small group fellowship in a large parish. For children, our choir program gives instruction in the basics of church music performance and history.

Through a structured program affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music, called Voice for Life, our singers learn to appreciate the value of achieving short- and long- range goals both individually and collectively. They sing some of the greatest pieces of sacred music ever written and receive early opportunities for social interaction within the parish and the broader church. Concerts, choir festivals, tours, and recording are also part of the program for older children and adults from time to time.

THE TRINITY CHOIR (adults) rehearses each Wednesday night from 7-9.They also meet each Sunday at 10:20 a.m. to rehearse for the 11 a.m. Eucharist and occasionally at 8:20 to rehearse for the 9 a.m. Eucharist. The choir also sings Choral Evensong at 5:00 p.m. on either the first or third Sunday of the month.

THE ST. CECILIA CHOIR (girls) and THE ST. NICOLAS CHOIR (boys) meet every Monday from 6:30-7:30 and Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. This group is for those in grade 3 and up. Novices (grade 2 and up) take part in a special overlapping rehearsal each Monday from 6-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. These choirs meet each Sunday morning, September through May, at 8:20 a.m. to rehearse for the 9 a.m. Eucharist.

THE CHILDREN'S CHOIR (boys and girls) meets each Wednesday from 5-5:35 p.m. This non-performing choir learns the basics of singing, the Church year, Bible stories, the pipe organ, and the parts of the church building.
