CLASSES FOR TWEENS & TEENS
JOURNEY TO ADULTHOOD
Classes for 6th to 12th graders have resumed! All classes will be held outside, or where outside air can easily be circulated.
The Journey to Adulthood program's underlying theme is that adulthood is earned or learned. We form a safe community in which they can explore issues of spirituality, society, self, and sexuality though the context of scripture, reason and tradition of the Episcopal Church. These groups meet Sunday morning and a couple of times a month outside of church for activities, service projects and more.
CHRISTIAN FORMATION FOR TWEENS & TEENS
Rite-13 (Grades 6 & 7)
At Trinity, when young people turn 13 they participate in a special rite of passage using the liturgy called "rite-13." This group, the name of which draws from the rite, is a celebration of God's gift of becoming a teenager. In the safe space nurtured in the class, youth begin the exploration of spirituality, society, self and sexuality. REGISTER HERE
J2A (Grades 8 & 9)
J2A gets its name from the abbreviation of the broader curriculum. This section delves deeper into the previous topics but encourages these young people in their leadership and independence. This year, the group will prepare for an Urban Adventure in Chicago. REGISTER HERE
4Ward (formerly YAC, Grades 10 & 11)) 4Ward focuses on vocation and leadership in the church. They will work on team building and service projects. Due to the pandemic, this class missed their Urban Adventure and Pilgrimage, so this year they will join the J2A group on their Urban Adventure in Chicago. REGISTER HERE
This group leads themselves. With the help of an adult mentor, high school seniors decide what they would like todiscuss and what projects they might like to take on. This is a stepping off point for young adults to begin taking charge. REGISTER HERE
