How will the CDC's new update affect Trinity?

Read the enewsletter in its entirety here.

Beloved Siblings in Christ,

Ten days, TEN DAYS, until we reopen for in-person services. We cannot wait to see those of you who plan to attend in-person services on May 23rd, and we want to let you know what to expect as we return to worship in the building.

When you arrive, please enter through the southwest doors (the main doors by the parking lot). Staff will check if you have signed the community covenant. If not, you will have the opportunity to do so at that time. Masks must be worn in the building so if you don't have one, you will be given a disposable mask.

The Great Hall will not be available for gathering so we ask that you proceed directly to the narthex (the back of the church). Ushers will seat each group so please wait for assistance. This will help us ensure we maintain 6ft. of space between each family group or bubble. Your cooperation and assistance will be appreciated. Once seated in the nave, you may notice that the tech team performing sound checks. This is necessary to the recording/streaming process and cannot be avoided. Sound checks should take no more than 15 minutes before the service.

After the service, coffee hour will take place on the promenade. Please do not use the east doors to go to the promenade. Ushers will be available to assist anyone with mobility issues as we make our way from the southwest entrance around the outside of the building to the promenade. Join us for donuts, coffee and water in the fresh air. Please be aware there will not be seating available.

We know some will not be quite ready to return to service in-person, and we understand that decision. We will continue to stream a pre-recorded service, but, beginning May 23rd, the service will be streamed at 11:00am on Facebook. We will record the 9:00am in-person service until we have the Cox fiber needed to live-stream.

With the return to in-person services, we are beginning to make plans for future in-person events. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

  • May 23 - First inside in-person services at 7:30, 9:00, 11:00, and 11:05am in the Church Down Under

  • May 30 - Trinity Sunday and Parish Picnic. Bring your own chair and enjoy grilled treats prepared by the Brotherhood of St. Lawrence, 12:05pm

  • May 30 - Unity Faith Day at all services. A statewide unity program to reflect on the history of the Greenwood District in conjunction with the 2021 Commemoration.

  • June 5 - Rite-13 rehearsal dinner, 4:00-6:00pm

We are counting on you to help us make this transition as smooth and safe as possible! For more information about our reopening, visit our FAQ page on the website, or contact Hannah Middlebrook.

Remember, the church building may be (mostly) closed, but the church is definitely open!
