Beloved Family in Christ,
If you have driven by the church, or visited our Facebook page, you will see that we have a new banner. One that proclaims our belief that everyone is a beloved child of God. We affirm every individual as their authentic self; we support the right to marry the person you love; we stand with immigrants and other minorities who are disproportionately negatively impacted by poverty, incarceration, drugs, and lack of access to quality affordable healthcare; and we believe that black lives matter.

The phrase "Black Lives Matter" has become a partisan issue. We've even heard it referred to as "hate speech." But, we are created in God's own image. Every man, every woman, every person. Black, white, brown, trans, cis, gay, straight - God created ALL of us in his image. God's kin-dom was saved and created anew in the birth and death of a brown-skinned, Jewish man. That Messiah taught us to welcome the stranger, to clothe the poor, feed the hungry, care for the sick. God commanded us to work toward a harmonious existence with each other.
By saying black lives matter, we are openly, and un-apologetically, standing up against racism, as the bible tells us to do. Learn with us as we struggle to break down our own implicit and explicit biases. Stand with us in the radical love of Jesus.
Remember, the building may be closed, but the Church is open!
