Download an app to practive daily devotions during Advent. There are devotions every day of the year but they also do a season section specifically for Advent. Using a simple format of five parts, Pause, listen, think, pray, go, the app leads one through a simple devotional practice with guidance from shaping prayer to how to make it relevant through action. Superheroines of the Bible
Thursdays at 7:00pm on Zoom | Caroline Leithner, MDiv (see below for Caroline’s bio)
Join Caroline Leithner to learn about prophetic and heroic women of the Old and New Testaments. Each week will center around a theme or book of the Bible, and we will discuss matriarchs, prophets, judges disciples and unlikely heroes. Each class will find its basis in scripture, with additional illumination from Jewish, Christian, and Muslim writers and texts. Come ready to talk about our spiritual ancestors and their contributions to our faith.
About Caroline: Caroline is a nurse practitioner and a graduate of Vanderbilt Divinity School. Professionally she provides mental health care at a Tulsa area non-profit, and in her spare time she is a member of the Trinity choir and vestry. Caroline has previously taught Christian formation to youth and adults and she continually finds new meaning and inspiration in the Bible. REGISTER HERE.

Journeying the Way of Love in Advent
The four Sundays in Lent at 10:00am | 3rd floor conference room | facilitated by Deacon Bert Bibens and Deacon Nancy Brown. For the season of Advent, Journeying the Way of Love offers four sessions. These sessions are to be explored, as we await the coming of Christ, by moving through the first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke. Luke’s gospel provides a pattern for understanding how we can live the Way of Love as individuals, as families and friends, as a community, and out in the world. REGISTER HERE.

Advent Family Fest, 10:00am
Make wreaths with real greens, prayer beads*, and other Advent crafts in the Great Hall. Enjoy a hot chocolate bar and cookie decorating, too! This is an event for all ages and helps young people mark the beginning of the Advent season. *Mo. CHeryl will also lead a class in making prayer beads at 12:00pm on the same day.

Join us for a hot breakfast, fun Christmas crafts (edible and not) and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus! There is no charge for this event and we encourage you to bring friends.

Christmas Market & Kiddie Mini Market, 9:00am-12:30pm
Shop local small businesses in the convenience of the Great Hall starting at 9:00am. Children are invited to shop the mini market where everything is $1 or less. Volunteers will help wrap gifts to keep the surprise for Christmas.

Adult Game Night, 6:00pm
Bring your favorite game, a dish to share, and your own beverages and enjoy a night of fun with other parishioners. 21+ only, please.

Advent Quiet Day, 9:00am-12:00pm
What is a rule of life? A rule of life is a schedule, set of practices, and relational rhythms that help us create space in our busy world so we can be with Jesus. The quiet day is a way to help us find balance in our lives. On the 10th of December, from 9:00am to Noon come and learn more during our Advent quiet day. We will talk about what your rule of life looks like. There will be time to sit in the church and meditate quietly on your rule of life REGISTER HERE

Social Justice Commission Christmas Party, 6:00-8:00pm
Trinity’s Social Justice Commission is hosting a Christmas party for the immigrant families to whom we provide food assistance. The party will be on December 10 at Trinity. Here are ways you can help: (1) pick up a stocking from the Great Hall on November 13 or 20, fill it with treats for the child whose name and age are attached, and return it by December 4; (2) bake 3 dozen cookies for a cookie exchange (details on flyers in the Great Hall; (3) make a monetary donation to help offset the cost of the meal and other party expenses (note SJC Christmas Party on your donation). Join us at 10:00am in the Great Hall for the next TED talk video and discussion. We will watch TED Talk: Let’s get to the root of racial injustice by Megan Ming Francis at TEDxRainier. The discussion will be facilitated by Becky Moseman.
